Management Team 

The Sage healthcare division executive management team brings together decades of experience in healthcare technology innovation and implementation.

Betty Otter-Nickerson, PresidentBetty Otter-Nickerson
President, Sage Healthcare Division

As president of the Sage North America Healthcare Division, Betty Otter-Nickerson is responsible for strategic vision and operations, building on the company’s more than 25 years of innovation in the healthcare field. After beginning her professional life in social work, Otter-Nickerson’s career has extended to the corporate and nonprofit arenas. She spent 10 years at BMC Software, where she advanced from R&D product line manager to vice president of operations for product management and development, focusing on worldwide operations for BMC’s enterprise management solutions. Otter-Nickerson pursued entrepreneurial and risk-based ventures as the president and CEO of both Vincera Software and Gallery Watch.

She most recently was COO of the LIVESTRONG Foundation, where she provided executive leadership for the foundation’s activities and was instrumental in the development and growth of the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network, gaining international recognition for the network as an innovative, reputable, and sustainable model of cancer survivorship care in large academic medical centers as well community practice settings.


Lee Horner, Senior Vice President, Sales Lee Horner
Senior Vice President, Sales

As Senior Vice President of Sales, Lee Horner brings to Sage nearly 20 years of experience in computer software and hardware industry. Prior to joining the Sage Healthcare Division in 2010, Horner was Vice President of Sales for CA (formerly Computer Associates), a leading IT software company where he was responsible for leading the direct sales in the Southern Area.

He also worked with DataCore Software and held various roles including management of the Business Development function and served as the Vice President of North America Sales for the company, and he served as the Director of Sales for ADIC (Advanced Digital Information Corp) where he managed all direct and in-direct sales for the Eastern Region. While at ADIC he also was part of the team focusing on new acquisitions. Before joining ADIC, Lee spent more than five years at Seagate Software where he managed the Central Sales organization.


Janet Livengood, Senior Vice President, Division CounselJanet Livengood
Senior Vice President, Division Counsel

As Senior Vice President and Division Counsel, Janet Livengood joined Sage in August 2001 and serves for Sage North America Healthcare Division. Prior to Sage, Livengood served as regional vice president for industry policy for Z-Tel Communications, associate general counsel for Crown Castle International and general counsel for Adelphia Business Solutions and HSS Telecommunications.

Livengood holds a BS from Carnegie-Mellon University, an MLS and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.


Tony Ryzinski, Senior Vice President, MarketingTony Ryzinski
Senior Vice President, Marketing

As Senior Vice President, Marketing, Tony Ryzinski is responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing within the healthcare market.

Ryzinski’s professional career has been fully involved in the healthcare field. Before joining Sage, he provided marketing consulting services to a range of healthcare organizations, was senior vice president of marketing for Misys Healthcare Systems, vice president of advertising and brand marketing for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, and associate vice president of marketing for Graduate Health System in Philadelphia. He holds a BA from Temple University.


Abolfazl Sirjani, Senior Vice President, Technology and DevelopmentAbolfazl Sirjani
Senior Vice President of Technology and Development

As Senior Vice President of Technology and Development, Abolfazl Sirjani is responsible for leading the engineering team and development of advanced technologies, and enhancements for the next generation of Sage Healthcare Division’s products.

Sirjani brings more than 25 years experience in technology strategy, architectural development and programming to Sage. Prior to joining the Healthcare Division in 2010, Sirjani was the VP of Microsoft Technology and Standards Strategy at Citrix where he was responsible for overall technology strategy between Citrix and Microsoft, served on the DMTF board and initiated adoption of the DMTF standards in Citrix XenServer. He worked at BMC Software architecting management tools and managing the strategic planning and R&D department; and he was with the Advanced Technology group in IBM Application System Division architecting database and operating systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Washington State University. In addition to his professional experience, Sirjani has eight years experience teaching Computer Science at universities.


Jeanne Walters, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial OfficerJeanne Walters
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Jeanne Walters joined Sage in May 2004. Prior to joining Sage, Walters served 10 years as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Intermedia Communications, Inc., a multi-billion dollar telecommunications company. Previously, she was an auditor for Ernst & Young, and is a Florida Certified Public Accountant.

Walters holds an MBA with a concentration in finance and a BA in accounting from Wilkes University.


Mark Young, Senior Vice President, Research, Development & EDIMark Young
Senior Vice President, Research, Development & EDI

As Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Information Officer, Mark Young joined Sage in August 2004. Prior to joining Sage, he held various positions within Misys Healthcare Systems' physician systems division and most recently led the technology initiatives with the transactions services division. He has also served in various positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Young holds a BS in computer management from West Virginia Institute of Technology.
